The Eurocup action heats up with the start of the quarterfinals on June 19.
The first quarterfinal match will be between Portugal and Germany.
This match promises to be one of the best to watch when the Portuguese squad led by arguably the best player in the world, Cristiano, faces off against
the powerhouse German team. While Portugal go in as favorites, Germany have every chance of causing dissapoint.
On June 20, we see the unexpected matchup of
Turkey and Croatia. Turkey coming off one of the biggest upsets in the tournament will take on the surprisingly strong Croatian squad that will surely prove
a physical and well-fought match between the two.
The 3rd quarterfinal will be played on the 22 with Holland and Russia at the helm. Holland are clear favorites in this
one, but Russia, who will go into this match with much less pressure than the Dutch, still have a chance at causing an upset.
The last quarter final match we will witness
will be between the “Furia Roja” that is Spain and World Champs Italy. While Italy are the current World champions, they haven’t shown the same form in this Euro and as a result,
barely made it through the knock-out round. While Spain are widely known to be under-performers in the latter rounds, they will be seeking vengeance against the Italian side in hopes
of the first victory in an official match in 88 years! This one is a can’t miss for any soccer/football fan.
