I tried this product Dormanex Sleep when they offered their free trial. I paid 6.95 for the shipping/handling only; my credit card was charged $49.95 1 week later! I’ve been trying to contact these people but all I get is automated e-mail reply.

I am not happy with this situation and beside their product didn’t work for me.

    Hi Elizabeth,

I would suggest calling them for a refund. they can be reached at 1-877-210-7378
    M-F 10AM-6PM.

Also, it’s early to tell if it didn’t work for you. since this is a natural cure, this might take about a week for your body to get used to how it works and then you’ll start noticing the amazing results of sleeping better every night.

please update us on how it goes with getting the refund.

This product is a SCAM! $1 shipping and handeling then they charge you $89 once the free trial is up. Not only that the product does not even work! DONT BUY! If you have problems just call your bank and have them charge it back!

    Dear Mike,

The offer described in this post expired. I would find a new sleep aid offer and will post it in the next few days.

    Dear Readers

The link was updated with the best Dormanex Sleep Aid Offer. Get your sleep back.

Scam is correct. I received an email from a “friend” with a link to a “free sleep kit worth $100.00 – pay only $3.97 s/h. I placed an order, received an order confirmation showing my account had been charged $3.97. Luckily, I was balancing my checkbook that same day and discovered a mystery amount of $101.00 had been charged, I called and sure enough, it was Dormanex. Because I caught it the same day, I was able to have the charge stopped. They ARE scamming people…either the free offer has “expired” or they hope older people won’t catch the charge until it’s too late. I filed complaints with all the consumer agencies in FL where they are located as well as CA where I live. JERKS!

    Hi! I’m Crystal. I am almost 16. :)
I guess http://www.antiscams.info – good name for this site! ;)
It is so interestingly here, especially in this category.
I was surfed about 2 hours before found this site. I think i’ll be here for a long time! :-*

  8. Kagan October 16, 2008 12:06 am

This is absolutely a scam! They offer a free 14 day trial and only charge shipping of $3.97. When my shipment arrived, It had an additional 12 boxes inside. Ofcourse, you could return the boxes within 30 days ar YOUR OWN COST, and even then, they would charge $5.95 PER BOX restocking fee! That’s $71.40 plus the $3.97 plus the cost of shipping back for a free 14 day trial!?! I would love to run a business where I send people 3 months worth of product without their asking, and then charge them to return it.

The fact that you guys are promoting this scam makes you complicit in it!

  9. Kagan October 16, 2008 2:48 pm

To add to my previous post…

I was only able to contact Dormanex by calling the sales dept. Their customer service dept. does NOT answer the phone or return calls. Once I had a salesperson on the line, I requested to return the 3 month’s supply as outlined on their T&C. The sales person was VERY accomodating and helpful. He provided me with very specific instructions for making sure the product was returned in time. He was certain to give me the “proper address” for return shipping. Here’s the catch. The address does not exist. I used every possible method for verifying the address including Fedex’s address verification system, and it is simply wrong. You see, if I send it to this address, it will not reach them in time, and I will be charged over $100. This is not simply fraud, it is outright thievery! Plus, their terms and conditions threaten to report you (their potential customer) as a perpetrator of internet fraud if you attempt to deny billing to your credit card or charge back. They claim there is a list to which your name will be added (true or not, I don’t know), which will negatively impact your personal credit rating. I will be doing everything in my power to expose this crime.

@Kagan, You’re Right ! They Changed their TOS and now this offer is a total SCAM!

although the product does work and is recommended for people who are willing to pay for it – note that this is the actual retail price for the product. The SCAM about this offer is that they advertise that they give out the trial for free when they actually don’t !

  11. Lori Volentine October 30, 2008 9:19 am

Dormanex works…But my problem with the company is, they send extra, so they can charge you later. I was so excited when I received my order, that I didn’t read all of the details about sending back what I didn’t want.
I am so tired of people being taken advantage of. Me being one of them. If your product is that good, let people reorder at their own will, NOT you sending them more than what they bargained for. Then charging an absolutely, ridiculous amount to sleep. I would rather stay awake! Shame on me, again, for trusting someone who says they care. (About their WALLET) I mailed the extra 3 mths. supply back. I have heard nothing from them and probably won’t. I will probably get charged for the restocking fees and the boxes that I had taken the product out of, because they were huge boxes for such a small container. Again Ridiculous…

  12. Lori October 30, 2008 4:31 pm

The Dormanex people are crooks!!!!! There is nothing “free” about their offer. They send you a gigantic box of crap that doesn’t work, then charge you a huge restocking fee after you return it at your own expense. This has to be illegal. At at time when most people in this country are struggling financially, this company is ripping people off. They’re scum bags.

  13. Gay McCall October 31, 2008 1:13 pm

Take my word for it. These people are crooks. All your comments are correct about the restocking fee etc. They said I had to pay for an additional 3 months of the product before I could cancel my automatic payment and it would cost me $75. I was just hit from m y bank account for $149.95!!!

And now they are not reachable by phone at ANY department!

DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT !!!

  14. diane needham November 11, 2008 1:21 am

I also tried the free trial on to see a $159.35 charge pending in my bank account from them unauthorized. The phone number they give is a farce, the emails are a farce. The whole thing is a scam.

I have opened up a fraud report on them today with my bank. I did not authorize them to do anything.

  15. Danny November 25, 2008 5:33 pm

THIS IS A SCAM TRIED TO charge my cc for 101.00 it was only going to be .99 for shipping.. but I put a stop on it so it did not go through. do not buy from them !!!!!!!!!!!! RIP OFF!!!!!!

  16. Robert Rodriguez December 18, 2008 10:13 pm

Not only did the product not work for me it game me MORE insomnia!!! Imagine that. I sent email to cancel within the 14 days–based on their Terms And Conditions. Of course they never cancelled and charged. I was charged $159 4 days later. I of course have contacted my credit card issuer and sent a 15 page fax with documentation on 12/18/08. I am also stuck with their product here. I want this to pay to ship it back. I will wait and see.

On another note. No where on their website do you see what price you will be charged after the trial is over. That in of itself is deceptive marketing and should be considered fraud.

  17. DAS January 9, 2009 4:47 pm

I ordered in Sept. they charged my card and it took over two months when the sent me the ” Free Offer” . When I got the product there was a 3 X 3 paper that said the were going to send a six month supply unless I canceled it before the next shipment so I did, I e-mailed cancellations@dormanex.com and I got an auto e-mail that stated:

Thank you for contacting Dormanex customer support. Please call our live customer service department at 1-877-210-REST (7378) to answer any questions you might have. Our hours of operation are 10am to 6pm eastern standard time.

    Warmest Regards,

    Dormanex Support

I didn’t have any questions and thought that this e-mail canceled the order, I was surprised when I checked my account and there was a charge for 159.35. I called the Customer Service Department and they said that the package was mailed, this was on a Friday, the “Package” was No sent until Monday. When the package got here I sent it back that day, after a week I called back and was told they were not to give and credits for seven days this was 12-24-08, I called on 1-7-08 and was now told that I would get a credit in three days, for only 139.38. Today I received a e-mail that said I would get a credit, I don’t know if or when I will get the money credited to by account. I did report this company to the BBB. DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT!!!!!
They gave me the run around and the same person always answered the phone when I called, and she didn’t even know what the “Auto E-Mail” stated.
I get charged to mail a package I didn’t want and cancelled wat a scam

  18. Dave Griswold, CRM Director January 13, 2009 11:50 am

Customer service reps are available at 877-210-REST, there is no problem in cancelling (we do try to find out why the customer is cancelling). Most people find that Dormanex works for them, but we give the risk-free trial so you can decide for yourself. The $101 charge is a pre-authorization only, it is voided immediately and never shows up on your statement.

  19. Joe February 18, 2009 3:12 am

I’m not alone and some of you got off cheap, that “Free Trial” is the most expensive free-thing I ever received.

Thanks to you for providing their phone number, I’m afraid they’ll try doing an auto-renewal after my $159.00 worth of candy runs out. Do they auto-renew?

The package also said it was a six-month supply but with only ninety (90) strips – and I did not find it affective at all. $27.00 each for those little yellow pieces of plastic – amazing.

For future reference, I won’t ever order anything from a website that has no contact info, in hindsight that should have been a red flag.

To cure your sleeping problems, drink a pint of Johnny Walker Black and get out cheap.

  20. Penny March 31, 2009 12:01 pm

This is a scam. I got an email saying that you could get a two weeks supply to try for $3.97. They sent a 6 month supply and charged my card the $3.97 plus $159.00. On top of that it doesn’t work and you can’t get ahold of them. I have changed my card # so they can’t continue to charge for unordered junk
