I’m sure you’ve seen multiple variations of the new diet Acai Berry + Colon Cleanse.. but is it a scam?

My name is Molly Sullivan from Lansing, MI and I wanted to share my weight loss story with you. I started this blog because I understand the unhappiness and depression that comes from being overweight. And I trusted this show not to have shady doctors on, so I had a feeling this wasn’t one of those “too good to be true” diets.
It could have been dumb luck, but the very next day I saw Dr. Oz on the Rachael Ray show talking about how cleansing your colon is a great way to lose unwanted weight.
I don’t know all the medical details, but basically he was explaining how years worth of gunk and junk get trapped in your colon and trap in all sorts of toxins. It’s a thick slime like tar and it ads to your waistline.
You can do all the exercise you want, but it won’t cleanse the toxins from your body (maybe that’s why all those diets failed for me previously). Dr. Oz said that cleansing out this sludge would help you lose weight in ways dieting and exercise won’t.

I have a coworker who’s on this diet and she loves it. I kind of thought it was one of those diets where it works for some and not for others. That’s how most dieting products seem to work. But, after reading all the success that you guys have had, I’m thinking of trying it too. Why not when it’s FREE!

THIS IS HOW I HOPEFULLY TOOK CARE OF THIS::: I got caught up in the Acai Berry – Colon Cleanse scam as well. I had three $83.00 charges on my credit card before I realized what was happening. The following is what I did and so far it is has been successful. I started with contacting the Better Business Bureau in Florida for FWM Laboratories. Then I contacted my credit card company and submitted fraud alerts for the three charges. I also had my credit card company issue me a new number (as if I had lost my credit card) I then called the numbers listed on my credit card statement for each company (2 charges were same company and one charge was the other company) and was able to get through to a person on each of the two numbers and received a cancellation number on the one (from a very foreign sounding person) and was told I would receive an email confirmation on the other one. Never received it – ended up calling back and getting an email address. I emailed the company to confirm my cancellation and to get a return address to return the product. After getting a lecture by email on how I had agreed to the auto delivery program they told me they would reimburse me half of the 80 something charge and I could keep the product. (Yeah like I would ever take any of those pills now!!!). To date, my credit card company had deducted the three charges. However, I am still going to check my credit card online daily just in case. THIS IS A SCAM!!! Got these free trials through the mail and did not get the auto shipment cancelled in time. It has cost me over $300 even though I sent the product back to them. There is no customer service whatsoever. And by the way–it didn’t make me lose a pound.
Of course this is a scam. You don’t get free trials of anything these days. You get signed up for recurring orders with a free bottle to start with. The scam is:
1. People don’t realize they signed up for recurring orders
2. To cancel takes time and effort and so you probably will lose some money along the way
3. One free bottle is not going to produce any results so if you really want to try the method of weight loss then you have to pay at least 3 months worth to get results
4. No-one recommended the combination despite the reference to Oprah
5. Acai is an anti-oxidant, so it is anti-aging product not a weight loss product
6. Doctors have said over and over that colon cleanse products and routines are a waste of time as the colon cleans itself.
And if it was not a scam then why the scam advertising approach? These fake names and fake personal stories and fake blogs. And the fact they are replicated over and over again?
Scam, scam, scam. Why does anyone even have to ask?
i went and bought some acai berry juice and some aloe vera colon cleanse tablets from hollond and barrett i really hope it works for me as it did for you.
People are always looking for the easy way out: pop a pill instead of controlling their eating and exercising.
my question is do you have to take the acai and colon cleanse together for acai to work? or is this just for the first couple of weeks that you begin acai, If some one can answer that for me i would appreciate it

IT IS A SCAM!!!! AFTER 4 DAYS THEY TAKE ANOTHER $80 OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT! PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED!!!
The presentation in the advertising is the key. Look at the pictures at the top of the page. If you examine them very closely, you will see that they are indeed photos of the same models torso. These appear to be phenomenal results, but what I think you are actually seeing here is a “during” and “after photo..If the models gut were impacted with waste, that, and the toxins/gas that would accompany it would make her stomach rounder and tighter. In the photo above at left, the model has what appears to be a very weak looking, loose, soft belly. She probably had lost all the trapped material by the time this pic was taken, and had to work out like a demon to regain the muscle tone in her stomach before taking the “after photo”. More than likely, this model did not even use this product. In a lot of these ads, as well as those for exercise gadget informercials, models are sought who are just slightly out of shape, or have recently given birth to give an appearence of “overweight or out of shape” (actually, these models can whip back into shape quickly, giving the product some credibility.) In short, people see dramatic results, and, desperate for the same result, buy the product without really checking into it…
How do I get in touch with the company that sends out these products? I live in Australia, have recieved the trial and have further questions and no way to contact anyone – except a phone number in the UK. Please send me an email I can respond to.

i ordered my free trial to only pay for shipping and handling on 8-17 did not receive them colon cleanse 3000 until 8/28 and received the acai berry on 9/2. i was charged $4.95 on 8/24 and 8/26. on 9/3 was charged $83.95. i called the company and they said that i had 14 day trial and it started when i placed the order. they said too bad soo sad. i noticed that the acai berry was from the same company so while i was on the phone stated that they better cancel that one too. I used the colon cleanse for 6 days and felt no difference. i got better results from taking fiber drinks 2 times a day. The company Colon Cleanse 3000 has the same address as the Acai Berry Breeze. now i have to send the Acai Berry Breeze back and only took 4 tablets. i got better results from protien drinks. they swore that the 14 day trial starts from the order date and is in print in the terms and conditions. DO NOT GET TAKEN BY THIS COMPANY.
just started this diet today. I have already begin to feel more energized than usual. wish me luck because I’ve tried other diets but a soon as i stopped , I just gained the weight back.

this is a rip off. i tried to cancel my subscription to this rubbish before the 15 day deadline, but was charged £297.00 to my credit card unlawfully. this is happening to thousands of people worldwide. the banks are aware but cant do anyhting as they hide the costs in the small print. please dont fall for this!

Pharma Labs, Acai Cleanse : I also got sucked in by the “free trial offer” meaning that I thought I was just paying for the $4.95 s & h charge but then got a $79.95 charge on my account. After the fact, I did re-review and it does sketchily say 10 day trial period vs. 30 day trial product, which is the confusing part. I may be a simple minded consumer, but I am not a person without respect. I feel stupid not only for ordering a simple herbal laxative that is 8 times over priced, I feel stupid for having been hood winked into such a purchase. Calling they did credit my account for this charge…but why should I even have to do that if the product and price is what it claims to be? I told the gal on the phone that I only wanted the “sample item” nothing else…not the monthly service JUST the sample product. Guess what? This charge showed up on my account today. I was never able to reach anyone on the phone, but I left a message voicing my anger and disapproval. Charges showed up on my account and that is what prompted me to call again and embarrassingly explain to a obviously very young girl, popping her gum, that I was searching for a product to help bowel elimination as a means of losing weight, more energy etc, etc…whatever. She reminded me that I had to return the items within 14 days or I would be charged $79.95 full price. THEN the real marketing motivation and draw in to continue, they’ll give you a “surprise” 50 % discount to keep getting a product that could not be actually be worth more than $6.00. If you don’t call some pay the $79.95, if you do you get a discount. So if you’re stupid enough not to call, $79.95 is charged to your CC. If you call because you’re on SS, scared to death about sudden bank charges you didn’t know were coming and embarrassed you got such a “stupid” charge for such a “stupid” product and you can’t pay your rent they’ll give you the discount which still works for them in a big way, but is still “stupid” for you!
The ingredients aren’t going to kill you, hopefully, but the unscrupulous sales tactics may. This company and those copy cat companies won’t be around long on their own, they are just one of the many product marketing fads that pop up everywhere trying to make a big grap it and run profit. Folks, go to your doctor, your health food store or the grocery vegetable section…get the same for way less and keep your dignity!
